Mobile Continuous Delivery
With EAS we were able to provide continuous delivery of our mobile applications. Later we expanded our pipelines to leverage OTA updates, ensuring changes are delivered to our mobile customers at the same pace as our web customers. The combination of EAS and expo-updates was easy to set up, avoiding the need to have experts on native platforms or expensive build machines to support iOS.
Pull Request Previews Environments
Using the classic Expo experience with Expo Go we were able to quickly build pull request previews for our mobile apps. All this with the bonus of using convenient QR codes to allow Product teams to access the preview builds effortlessly. This speed and convenience would have been impossible with vanilla react-native.
Bonus: An amazing development experience 🤩
The first two points were already enough juice for us to migrate our react-native applications to Expo. But as a bonus, we also received a much-appreciated upgrade on our development experience provided by the Expo CLI and development tooling.
No more hassle to set up local native development environments, and we now leverage the amazing collection of expo libraries which has been an incredible time-saver for us.
